Vokey Wedge Works is a custom shop service from Titleist located at www.vokey.com that offers limited release custom wedges. The wedges featured within the shop are designs and sole grinds that come from master craftsman Bob Vokey’s work on the PGA Tour. The wedges are available for $200 each with your choice of shaft, grip, grind, stamping options as well as loft, length, and lie adjustments. An Equip2Golf staff member recently went through the Vokey Wedge Works process ordering a Vokey TVD54 custom wedge. The process from ordering to delivery took about two weeks. The result is a custom wedge ordered to your exact specifications. The ordering process was easy using the well-designed website. The cost is higher than what you would pay for an off-the-rack wedge but the customization and timely service will appeal to golfers that are fans of Bob Vokey wedges. We found the Vokey TVD54 wedge to be a little heavier than our regular Vokey Design Spin Milled 256.10 wedge. This makes playing out of bunkers and rough around the greens much easier by just allowing the club to do the work. We really like the crescent shaped bounce and found it to be ideal for firm conditions and for golfers that take very shallow divots. It is a very versatile wedge. The machine grooves and face add texture that, spin-wise, added more control around the greens. Finally, we have played several rounds with this wedge and it appears to be very durable as it does not show any marks while looking as new as it did the day it was delivered.
