Cleveland Beryllium Copper

Editor's Note: The beryllium copper wedges received a review that was similar to that of Cleveland's Raw Tour Grind (RTG) models. Both produce a softer feel at impact and differ slightly in shape and appearance. Suggested retail price is $150 for BC, $125 for RTG, and $110 for chrome. GM

Cleveland 588P Review:

Accuracy

Less-Avg-More

Very accurate. Easy to align and excellent out of greenside bunkers.
Distance

Short-Avg-Long

Better than average distance. Solid well struck shots are rewarded with consistant distances.
Trajectory

Low-Avg-High

Wedges produce adequate distance. Difficult to control full shots, but half and three quarter shots produced consistant distances.
Feel

Less-Avg-More

Excellent. The beryllium copper produces a soft feel at impact. Blade design gives good feedback on mis-hits. Very similar to their RTG model.

Forgiveness

Less-Avg-More

Not very forgiving on off-center hits. They are easy to hit as are most wedges.

Looks
Traditional shape and look; beryllium copper, color darkens over time.
