Description: |
Dynamic Golf Technology
manufactures a line of
variable weight and variable centripetal force swing trainers.
The Trainer is a weighted bar with training
grip and adjustable weight
system that uses centripetal force to work different golf specific
muscles. It is designed to assist
golfers in developing
proper swing mechanics through muscle memory training.
The Trainer
is to be used as
a practice device following a
progressive training
routine using the club with the weight at each of the 3 positions.
The top position
locates the center of gravity
closest to the grip and
makes it feel similar to the “medicine
ball” drill intended to assist
in developing a solid one-piece
take-away and solid shoulder turn. The central weight position
generates a balanced center of gravity
near the center of the shaft
provding a feel of a consistent swing plane. The last weight position
generates the maximum amount of centripetal
force forcing the golfer to keep
the club on plane, in particularly on the downswing. This position
will also correct a swing that tries
to “re-direct” or “cast” the club head and
generate the proper release towards
the target. Finally, The Trainer can be used with no weight making
it similar to other popular weighted
clubs. The Trainer is 36" in length and is packaged with three
12 oz. weights.
Dynamic Golf Technology offers the Trainer in three models, including
one specifically designed for juniors. Online pricing is set at
$94.99 each.
Comments on Use:
- The Trainer provides a real physical
workout. Be prepared to work out
golf-specific muscles that rarely
get worked out on other weighted
swing trainers.
- The training grip forces
your
hands into the correct position building muscle memory as well.
A
regular
golf golf grip
will also work on this
club.
- The Trainer needs to
be swung
slowly as indicated in the instruction manual. This
is critical to
ensuring the correct muscle memory
training
and to prevent injury.
- The Trainer can be
used
both indoors and outdoors. We recommend using
inside with ceilings
of at least 9' in height.
- Immediately after a complete workout with
The Trainer,
it is difficult to properly swing
a regular golf club. The heavy weight of the
Trainer makes
a regular golf club feel weightless.
- Proper warmup is recommended
prior
to using The Trainer. Again, this is a real
physical workout necessitating the need to properly
warm
up muscles prior to working them out.
Summary:
The Trainer is one of the most versatile weighted swing training aids available today. We used The Trainer for several weeks and found that we were stronger at the end of our rounds and even picked up a few miles per hour in swing speed. The design of The Trainer is simple and it is easy to use. We feel that it makes a good addition to any golf workout routine. Additional benefits we feel golfers will benefit from use of The Trainer include increased flexibility, improved tempo, and better balance and release through the impact zone.
