Divotmat |
Improvement Area: Swing |
Rating: - Very Useful |
Description: |
The DivotMat is a swing training aid that maps out your swing path
as you make contact with the target golf ball images on specially printed
paper. The paper records a "fingerprint" of your swing that
can be analyzed identifying problems such as swinging over the top,
hitting heavy shots, and others. The aid consists of a polycaronate
base with patented paper that records a precise mark left by your swing.
The mark represents an a divot that your swing would make if on a fairway.
These marks provide instant feedback on your swing. The DivotMat System
costs $39.95 and includes: One DivotMat base, DivotSheets with over
250 golf ball impressions, a DivotMark Guide, complete printed instructions,
and a CD-ROM video demonstration. Replacement packs of 250 ball impression
DivotSheets (buckets) are only $9.95. The DivotMat is manufactured
in the USA and each purchase comes with a 45-day money back guarantee
for any reason.
Comments on Use:
- The system was simple to set up
and use with detailed
instructions that were easy to understand.
- The device provided
instant feedback as to
swing path direction
at the time of impact.
- Good
alternative to hitting
golf balls indoors
into a net providing
detailed feedback.
- Hitting
board is extemely durable.
- It took some adjustment getting used to hitting
the two-dimensional "golf
ball" images in order to produce
a realistic mark. We
recommend using initially
with wiffle golf balls
until you get used to
hitting the "golf
ball" image.
- From the image
below and right, one
of our test "fingerprints" indicates
a swing the is slightly
outside to in and a
little heavy.
Summary:
We found that the DivotMat System provides excellent feedback regarding
your swing path. We have all at one time or another hit a shot from
the fairway and "read" our divots looking for answers to
why our swings produce the shots that they do. The DivotMat provides
these answers without having to go to the course or range. We liked
the fact that we could get direct evidence of our swing path at the
point of impact. We feel that this training aid would be very useful
during the winter months when golfers are not playing as much and
would like to keep their swings sharp. Adding this to your daily
swing path training allows for additional feedback without having
to hit golf balls. We recommend complimenting your regular practice
routine with the DivotMat to measure and check your swing path.
