Zen Oracle Tour Review:

Setup & Alignment

Hard-Avg-Easy

The Zen Oracle Tour putter is face balanced and sets up very square to the intended target line. We found the golf ball sized hole behind the face to be an excellent alignment aid combined with the single red site line that extends to the back of the putter.
Feel

Soft-Avg-Crisp

We found that this putter provides ample feedback to the hands as to where on the clubface the ball was struck. The ball comes of the face with a nice click to it. The polymer insert that runs through the face into the sole of the putter provides a heavy feel that translates to solid contact.
Performance

Less-Avg-More

The Zen Oracle Tour putter delivers solid feel with solid results. The putter has merit as a putter by itself. But when you combine its ability to function as a training aid, then it performs like no other putter on the market. The golf ball sized hole in the putter head can be used to work on proper release of the putter by using your normal stroke following a set of prescribed drills. The drills, provided by world class instructor Rick Smith, are available in a videotape that is provided with each putter purchase. We found that following the drills over a brief period of time transcribed to improved performance on the course.
Looks

The Zen Oracle Tour features an extended mallet-shaped design with a golf ball size opening (i.e. aperture) in the head. The putter has a black polymer face insert that is poured through the center cavity of the putter. The finish is excellent with clean bright graphics and the putter is topped off with a red Winn grip and well-fitted black head cover. The look is modern and of high quality.

Summary
The Zen Oracle Tour putter receives high marks for innovation, feel, and looks. The putter is well-balanced and holds its own compared to other leading putters in the extreme weighting/unique alignment category. The one feature that separates this putter from the pack is its ability to double as a training aid. It is the only USGA-approved putter on the market that can stake this claim. This feature provides golfers an opportunity to practice their putting drills during a pre-round warmup with a club that stays in the bag as they go to the course. The Zen Oracle Tour putter should appeal to golfers of all abilities that prefer a heavier feel and seek increased performance through improved alignment.
