American Putter Review:

Setup & Alignment

Hard-Avg-Easy

The Mr. Two putter sets up well at address. As we have mentioned in other reviews, center-shafted putters are probably the easiest putters to align simply because the shaft goes right into the head at the point of impact. The Mr. Two putter sets up very square and provides a white alignment line in the middle of two red alignment lines on the putter’s top line. The lines are fairly short at 1/4” in length. The putter’s rocker sole also made alignment easy for a variety of hand positions.
Feel

Soft-Avg-Crisp

A couple of our reviewers felt that the putter produced a slightly “tinny” feel at impact. The face height of the putter is 0.85” similar to an old Bulls Eye putter. With the shallower face, we found that it was important to get the correct length so that the putter will perform as intended. Shots that were struck dead solid produced a nice soft feel. Slightly off-center struck putts produced feedback to the hands that indicated the sweet spot was missed.
Performance

Less-Avg-More

The putter has a "radius" face that is designed to impart top spin on the ball and eliminate skidding. We found this design feature to work as described. The ball gets rolling nicely and even putts hit towards the heel or toe tended to hold their lines well. The putter performed consistently in both long and short putts.
Looks

In addition to the brass head that we reviewed, the Mr. Two putter from Q-Roll Golf is available in a stainless head and black head. The longish blade looks good and sets up well behind the ball. The shiny head is milled from a solid block of brass. Our reviewers were mixed on the appearance of the site lines. Some noted that a single dark color would provide a better contrast than the current red-white-red alignment aids. Others liked the color combination with the brass head.

Summary
The Mr. Two putter will appeal to a wide range of golfers. We feel that it is best suited for golfers that prefer blades and like a softer feel with no offset. We liked the weight of the putter and how it sets up behind the ball at address. Golfers preferring a firmer feel might like to try the steel or black versions. The price of the brass Mr. Two model is $250, which we feel is a little high for a lesser known manufacturer. None the less, the Mr. Two putter has features that are unique and may warrant the pricing. The steel and black models come in a little lower at $175. All in all, we feel that the Mr. Two putter will appeal to golfers that roll the ball consistently.
