Web: www.p3proswing.com
Price: $695 each for base unit

Manufacturer’s Description:P3ProSwing is a personal swing analyzer and instructional aid. All you need is a laptop computer and the space to swing a golf club (you don't even have to hit a ball) -- it gives you all the data you need to analyze and improve your swing, all on your own. It’s portable and versatile. P3ProSwing recently added launch angle and video capture to its capabilities. Highly accurate and affordable, P3ProSwing, on the market since 2003, analyzes swings and provides for simulated rounds using high-tech graphics and sensors. “P3” represents “Practice, Play, Perform.” P3ProSwing also is a simulator and entertainment pack, in addition to a swing analyzer. The P3ProSwing, which can be used at home, allows golfers to receive instant feedback with any club and with or without a golf ball. Measurements include club speed, tempo, ball flight, swing plane, clubface position (in essence, whether it's hit the "sweet spot"), distance and now also launch angle and video capture. These two new enhanced features raise the golfer’s analysis experience to a new and exciting level. Shots may be practiced from any location on the Highlands National Golf Course, a 7,393-yard, 18-hole, par-72 championship simulated golf course. Computer graphics show the ball's flight path and actual landing location, whether in the rough, on the fairway or the green. Players may practice on the putting green or the driving range; the advanced golfer may hone in on draws or fades. The system allows up to a foursome to play a round on the course. P3ProSwing is used by golf instructors as well as by individual golfers. It now is in use at the Royal & Ancient Golf Academy in St. Andrews, Scotland, which opened this year. The P3ProSwing is available for purchase on the Web site, www.p3proswing.com, or from select retail locations around the U.S. P3ProSwing is a subsidiary of Sports Vision Technologies, which develops new advanced technologies in sports. Several different P3ProsSwing units are available. The price for the basic unit is $699 with various options available.

Review: We have had the opportunity to try out the P3ProSwing simulator on two separate occasions, the 2006 PGA Merchandise Show and the 2006 PGA Fall Expo. Each time we have come away more impressed with this emerging system. There are two separate applications of the P3ProSwing:  swing analysis and simulator. We have found that the P3ProSwing is simple to set up and even easier to use with an intuitive user interface and extensive range of available options. The base unit cost is $699 and includes a 9" by 14", durable, high tech sensing platform and software that captures the information from the sensors and creates a visual representation of the swing data. Options and packages priced separately include hitting net, video capture, launch angle, and entertainment software. Special packages are available for club fitters and instructors. The modular design of the system allows golfers, instructors, and businesses to select an affordable solution to their need and grow the system as their needs evolve. The P3ProSwing consists of a mat containing three sensor emitters that track the club head through the impact zone. The sensors are integrated into a standard hitting mat. The mat is connected to a standard personal computer that collects the data and presents it in a clean intuitive user interface. The P3ProSwing allows users to hit any club in the bag including putters. The P3ProSwing is ideal used with a hitting station hitting real golf balls but can also be used without a ball as well. The P3ProSwing is able to measure tempo, swing speed, club path, and launch angle. Plans are to add a module that measures spin to complete the system.  We give the P3ProSwing high marks for value, ease of use, and versatility. The system offers consumers, instructors, and businesses alike an accurate and affordable solution that by design can be incrementally acquired as need and resources are available.
