Review: We installed the Pershing 65-R shaft into a Titleist 905T driver with 10.5 degrees of loft, the 65-S shaft was used with a Cleveland Comp Launcher with 9.5 degrees of loft. As the company line points out, the feel of the shaft is incredible, very soft at impact but the ball comes off the face with alot of velocity. You get the ultimate in feel from the cluhead all the way up to your hands. It just breeds of confidence even on shots that weren't hit dead center. The other thing that stood out was how easy the ball was to control. The dispersion pattern with each driver was only a matter of 5-7 yards. One reviewer plays a regular flex shaft in his driver currently but found he could swing and control both the regular and stiff shafts without a problem. That is one of the high points of the Graphite Design line in that each shaft can fit a wide range of golfers. With other shafts we've reviewed, that hasn't been the case. With the Pershing line, the first thing to consider is the weight of the shaft. Starting at 47 grams all the way up to 81 grams, you want a shaft that allows you to optimize speed but with control. Once you do that, it will be very easy to dial in a particular stiffness because the shafts are so versatile across the board. We give the Pershing shafts high marks for feel, looks, accuracy and distance. This shaft will do well with any clubhead on the market.
