Ping Eye2+ |
| Accuracy |
Very accurate. Slightly off-center hits produced
accurate shots with minimal direction loss. |
| Distance |
Average.
Slightly longer than Ping Eye2+ in terms
of distance. Lofts are about 1/2° stronger
than Eye2+ model.
| Trajectory |
Higher trajectory than most irons. Will re-assess
with entire set and focus on the short irons
to determine if trajectory is as high as previous
Ping models. |
| Feel |
Very solid feel. These
irons are swingweighted higher than the
Eye2+s. An improvement over the light
headed Eye2 design.
| Forgiveness |
More than average forgiveness.
Minimal distance loss of slightly off-center
heel and toe hits.
| Looks |
| Mid-sized cavity back with
Custom Weight Port (CTP) in cavity, new
Ping silvery gray satin finish, notch in
hosel for easy lie adjustment, slanted
hosel opening, similar offset and look
to Eye2 design at address (see picture),
The "O" in O-Size stands for "optimum". |
| Summary |
| The Ping I3 O-Size irons
are very similar to Ping Eye2+ model in
terms of performance. With similar looks
and identical lofts between the two i3
models (O-Size and Blade), golfers have
the option to mix and match between the
two (i.e. 3-6 irons in the O-Size and 7-PW
irons in the Blade). These irons should
appeal to golfers of all abilities. |
