Feel Competitor Review:

Accuracy

Less-Avg-More

These irons proved to be very accurate, especially in the short and middle irons. The combination of shafts and clubhead design allows taking dead aim with assurance that the ball will go where aimed. The irons have a minimal constant offset of .060" through out the set making alignment very easy. With the longer irons (3,4), we experienced some trouble with the ball starting right of the intended line and then the ball would fade ever so slightly.
Distance

Short-Avg-Long

Distance with these irons was on par with other similar offerings. The middle and short irons were irons were found to be identical to the irons our reviewer currently plays. On the longer irons though, they appeared to be 5-7 yards shorter but that probably has to do with the ball flight mentioned in the Accuracy section of the review.
Trajectory

Low-Avg-High

The irons produced a lower trajectory that worked well in the wind and in controlling approach shots. This was found across the entire set. Dr. Lee Miller of Feel Golf responded to our comments with the following: "The trajectory on these sticks are very controlled in your flight preference. The players who uses Mizunos and similar blades find these (Feel) to be higher in flight. If you are used to using lighter clubs in total and swing weights, then you will hit the ball lower and less distance (with the Feels) due to the fact you trying to hit the ball versus just swinging the club."
Editor's Note: Our reviewer does play lighter clubs as Dr. Miller mentions and we plan to address his explanation of "swing" vs. "hit" in our continued review of these irons.GM
Feel

Less-Avg-More

As their name implies, this is where these clubs shine. The irons provided great feedback to the hands on well struck shots as well as off center hits. The ball could be easily worked in either direction with every club much more so than our reviewer's current clubs. The irons have the feel of traditional forgings but are manufactured with a proprietary "pressure casting" process that claims to be more consistent that traditional poured casting processes and provides superior performance results at a cost less than typical forging processes.

Forgiveness

Less-Avg-More

Surprisingly, we found these clubs to be fairly forgiving for a set of blades. We only noticed less forgiveness in the longer irons which only makes sense since the clubhead gets smaller as you go down the line. On the mis-hits with the longer irons distance was sacrificed 10-15 yards.

Looks
Very traditional blade featuring "V" muscle back design with minimal offset and high gloss mirror finish. The Feel Competitor irons are absolutely beautiful to look at both in the bag and at address. The club itself is very clean looking with no markings on the sole of the club and only "FEEL" and the number of the iron on the back of the club as opposed to traditional stamping on the sole. The product literature indicates that this is so that your playing partner won't know what you're playing. We tend to like the clean look although it can be difficult locating a club in a tight fitting carry bag. The Feel Competitor irons definitely have the "player" look to them.
Summary
Overall we give the Feel Competitor irons high marks for looks and performance, particularly in the short and middle irons. Equally impressive was our interactions with Feel Golf founder, Dr. Lee Miller, also known as "Dr. Feel". We were awed by Lee's knowledge of the game and equipment as well as his commitment to the Feel line of products. The Competitor iron's unique combination of shaft, head design, and weighting seem to be a winner. Add to this the traditional look and this set should appeal to lower handicap golfers looking for a set of minimal offset blades.
