Nickent Genex 3DX Oversize
Nickent 3DX Oversize irons 3-PW, 5-iron 38" length, Nickent Speedrated graphite shaft in regular flex, and Nickent Winn wrap–style grip.
Manufacturer's Description
Nickent Golf calls the Genex 3DX Oversize set the smart set - combining tour-tested iron-woods along with Genex's innovative "Three Dimension Extreme" weighting in the matching mid and short irons. Conceptually structured more like a fairway wood than a conventional iron, the 3DX irons feature a lowered center of gravity that make them easier to hit and more stable at impact, with an increased launch angle, a better spin rate, and a higher trajectory, so that the ball virtually drops and stops when it hits the green. The irons feature their proprietary 3-D Weighting System which works by moving weight in three directions - lower, deeper (back from the clubface) and more towards the heel of each clubhead. This back-weighted design produces a center-of-gravity that closely matches the CG of a lofted fairway wood. By positioning more mass in the visible weight pads at the rear of the clubhead, each individual 3DX iron is fine-tuned to provide optimal launch angle and trajectory for its specific loft. Benefits include a higher launch, improved stability, and increased directional control. Genex 3DX irons are available in two set configurations - Mens #3-PW (#3, #4 hybrid ironwood, #5-PW hybrid iron), Ladies #4-SW (#4, #5 hybrid ironwood, #6-SW hybrid iron). Suggested retail prices are $699 for graphite and $599 for steel shafts. The individual ironwoods are available at $149 graphite and $109 steel.

Nickent Genex 3DX Oversize:
| Accuracy |
We found the Genex 3DX Oversize irons to be extremely accurate and very easy to hit. The irons set up well and are easy to square at impact. The set just seems to want to go straight regardless of lie. Smooth swings are rewarded with increased accuracy. |
| Distance |
The distance of the Genex 3DX Oversize irons were found to be slightly longer than our existing sets in the 5-PW irons. The 3 and 4 iron woods, however, easily outdistanced our current 3 and 4 irons but with much greater ease. The irons offered a nice trajectory and produced ample spin so the ball checked nicely on the greens. |
| Trajectory |
Overall, the trajectory of these irons was higher than our current sets. We attribute this mostly to the higher launching graphite shafts. We experienced no distance lost as a result of the higher trajectory. |
| Feel |
The Genex 3DX Oversize irons produced a very solid feel at impact. We could distinguish between well struck shots and those missed on the heel or toe but the difference was miniscule. With either mishit, the shot still felt solid.
| Forgiveness |
We found these irons to be very forgiving. The oversize head design combined with unique weighting system really does work.
| Looks |
| The Genex 3DX Oversize irons are oversize game improvement irons that feature a closed cavity which performs somewhat like a small wood. The 5-PW are irons while the 3 and 4 are iron hybrid woods. The style can be definitely characterized as game improvement with a modern, sophisticated look. The dark finish on the iron woods is elegant and the overall quality of the set is high. The set is well integrated and visually appealing with jet black graphite shafts and smooth wrap-style grips by Winn. |

Summary:
The 3DX Oversize irons from Nickent Golf received high marks for forgiveness, distance, and looks. They are targeted toward mid to high handicap golfers in search of forgiveness and playability. The set delivers both with style. The hybrid set is among the easiest to hit that we have reviewed. The 3 and 4 hybrids get the ball in the air quickly and easily outperform our current long irons with much greater ease. Nickent has a real winner in this set and its price point should appeal to many golfers.
