2002 Driver Match Play

Rankmark.com, Providing Golf Data Worldwide

The following report is presented by Rankmark.com, the golf industry leader in consumer-based testing. Rankmark started with 44 drivers but determined that they needed to narrow the field down to a more manageable number. They asked 200 “testers” to choose the 10 best drivers from the field. As expected, the “testers” could not agree on which drivers should be omitted.

Each tester hit each driver either 2 or 3 times, and votes were tallied for each driver.

The following is an alphabetical listing of their choices representing the narrowed down field:

Adams GT 363 Mizuno T-Zoid Blue Ridge
Butler Nicklaus Air Max 360
Callaway C-4 Nike Forged
Cleveland Launcher Orlimar Hip Ti
Cobra SS 350 Ping TiSi Tec
Daiwa Team Daiwa 360 TaylorMade 300 series
Dogleg Right Hog Titleist 975 J.VS
Golf Gear Tsunami Tour Edge Bazooka F-4
Kasco Trinity Golf Stiletto
KZG 325 Wilson Deep Red
MacGregor Tourney 350 Yonex V Mass 400

Next they took this field and decided to have a "match play" tournament in which drivers would go head to head with each other. The match-ups were selected randomly.  Here are the pairings that were drawn for Round 1:
